Budget Hub — Privacy Policy

The operator of Budget Hub is a private entrepreneur (ФОП) registered in Ukraine:

Privacy requests: privacy@yastremskyi.com

In force since: 4 September 2026

What this app is

Budget Hub records what you earn and spend so that you can see where your money goes. It keeps your records on your phone and on a server, so that the same budget can be opened on more than one device and shared with the people you invite.

We do not sell your data. We do not advertise in the app, and there is no advertising or analytics software in it — no tracking identifier is collected and none is shared.

What we collect, and why

Your account. Your name, your e-mail address, your password (stored only as a hash — we cannot read it), and the language you use the app in. The e-mail address identifies your account, lets you reset your password, and is where an invitation to a shared budget is sent. Without it there is no account.

What you record. Your budgets, accounts, categories, income sources, transactions with their amounts, dates and notes, your monthly plans and your savings goals. This is the app: it exists to hold these and give them back to you.

If you note a card among your accounts, the app stores only the last four digits and the card's brand, which you type yourself, so you can tell one card from another. A full card number is never asked for, never sent and never stored. We take no payment details of any kind.

Your devices. For each device you sign in on: an identifier the app generates, the device name and platform, the app version, when it last synchronised, and — if you allow notifications — the push token the operating system issues. These let changes made on one phone reach another, and let us send you the notifications you asked for.

Nothing else. No location, no contacts, no photos, no microphone, no advertising identifier, no usage analytics.

Who else sees it

Apple and Google, for notifications only. A notification you have asked for is delivered through Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging. They receive the push token and the text of that notification, which may name a budget or an amount. Turning notifications off in the app stops this.

People you invite. A budget you share is visible to everyone you invite to it, at the level of access you give them. That is the point of sharing, and it is the one way your records reach another person.

Our hosting. The server runs on infrastructure rented from DigitalOcean, with Cloudflare in front of it. They carry the traffic and hold the disks; they do not use your data for anything of their own.

Sentry. The app and the server report a crash to Sentry so that a failure nobody described can still be fixed. It is deliberately configured to receive as little as possible: the error and where in the code it happened, and neither the addresses the app requested nor the contents of what you record.

We do not otherwise share, sell, rent or trade what you record. We disclose it only where the law compels us to.

Where it is kept, and for how long

On your phone the app keeps a copy of your budget so it works without a signal. Your sign-in token is held in the operating system's secure storage and is deliberately excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup.

On the server your records are kept for as long as your account exists, and the database is backed up nightly.

When you close your account, it is scheduled for erasure and you have thirty days to change your mind by signing back in. After that a scheduled job erases the account and everything belonging to it. Uninstalling the app is not the same thing: it removes the copy on the phone and leaves the account on the server.

What you can ask for

You can see and change everything you have recorded, from inside the app. You can export it — Settings offers a file containing your account and its records. You can close your account, which erases it as described above.

If you are in the EU or the UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, erase and port your data, to object to processing and to complain to your data-protection authority. Ukrainian law gives comparable rights. Write to privacy@yastremskyi.com and we will answer within thirty days.

Children

Budget Hub is not directed at children and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has an account, write to privacy@yastremskyi.com and we will erase it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top is when the current version came into force.
